We have a bit of a tradition in our family. On New Year’s Eve we look back over the past year and reflect on all the things we’re thankful for – big or small. It’s so lovely to hear what we all have to share and why it means a lot to us. I now have several years of these lists and treasure them all!
So this year I’ve decided to share my list with you and hope it’s an inspiration to help you do the same! As I look back over the year I’m hugely grateful!
Celebrating 20 wonderful years of marriage
Amazing, but true, we’ve been married now for 20 years! Since those first years in Asia we’ve grown and changed so much and yet our love for each other has only grown deeper. To celebrate this milestone we felt it was only fitting to return to Asia so had a wee holiday in Singapore. It was such a treat!
Special times with family
A weekend away with my sisters, quality time with my Mother- and Sister-in-law, a family trip to see a London musical, a holiday in Germany and a visit by my cousin all rank as highlights! I’m also hugely grateful that everyone has been safe and well throughout the year. It’s not something I take for granted.
I have been thrilled to get back in touch with friends from around the world this year when I joined Facebook. I can’t quite believe it’s taken me this long but I’m so pleased I finally took the plunge! We also spent some precious time with a dear friend when they were really poorly and it’s great that they’re doing so much better now!
Stronger, healthier, happier & sharper
Yeh! I can report that I no longer keep a record of migraines on my calendar. This is a HUGE DEAL!! Nor do I suffer with joint pain! I’m so profoundly grateful to doctors and writers like Dr Russell Blaylock, Dr Marilyn Glenville, Dr Josh Axe and Dr Mark Hyman who have taught me so much through their books, podcasts, website articles and newsletters, which have literally changed my life. I’ve been so inspired by the great recipes out there in the blog world too and now that we are in less pain we’ve even taken the step of buying a couple of bikes.
Lots of fun
While having a blog involves learning so much, from search engine optimisation to widgets and plug-ins, themes and brand, photos and social media – and let’s face it, I still need to learn A LOT! – I’m loving it and having so much fun! I’ve been so grateful that my health has improved it makes me all the more passionate about sharing this! And thank you so much for joining me on this journey!
And last but not least…
I’m so grateful for my job! I work with amazing colleagues, doing work I love for an organisation whose mission I feel passionately about. It’s such a privilege to be able to live out my faith at work as well as at home and in my local church.
So these are the things I’m grateful for in 2019. I’d love to hear yours if you’d like to share them with me!
